From the President’s Heart”

I cannot begin to tell you how much I have appreciated your support this past year.  In spite of the financial and economic struggles the State of Michigan has encountered, you the people of this great State have pulled together for the cause of Christ.  We have emphasized this past year the importance of the World Evangelism Fund and the role each of you plays.  It takes all of us pulling together to make something happen.  It isn’t just one person doing all the work, but a great group working together to realize a goal.  You are that great group.  Thank you for your willingness to give of your monies, your talents and your time.  God blesses those who give sacrificially and willingly to help others.  I know you and your churches are going to see great things taking place.  God bless your faithfulness as we begin a new church year.   Let’s see what God will do for us in the days ahead.

Thank you!

— Carol

Convention Booklets and Sponsorship

This year we are offering sponsorships to businesses in your church to help defray the cost of publishing the booklets.  A half page advertisement will be placed in the booklet for a donation of $50.  All monies need to be sent to Marilyn Irwin.  All advertisements need to be sent in Word or Publisher format to Publicity Secretary at nmipubsecretary@minaz.org before June 29th.  Any questions should be directed to Publicity Secretary.  The Michigan District reserves the right to accept or refuse any submissions for advertisement.

Teens at the Convention

Don’t miss out on the Amazing Race this year during NMI Convention at Indian Lake.  Team up with other district teens for an interactive experience as we discover Romania and the Philippines through the fun of zany competition and interesting activities.  Get the week kicked off with “Campfire at the Cross” July 10th at 9:30 PM and then go for the finish line at the Amazing Race on  July 11th beginning at 9 AM at the Ina Strait Activity Center.  For more details contact Rev. Richard Hand at (email) rwesleyhand@yahoo.com.

Crisis Care Kits

Thank you so very much for your efforts this past year in sending Crisis Care Kits.  However, we have received word that the warehouses are empty and they need more CCKs.  Spend a Sunday evening getting everyone involved in packing CCK to send.  The need is always there and always great.  Did you hear about the earthquake in Banda Ache, Indonesia?  Same place where the Tsunami hit.  The need is great.

A Report from Our Missionaries

Do you remember Rev. Larry & Phyllis West?  They live in Indonesia where the earthquake hit.  He wrote an incredible letter to our District President and we want to share it with you.  Visit our website to read how God is doing amazing things in Indonesia during this terrible crisis.  www.minaz.org/nmi

L.I.N.K.S.

LOVING, INTERESTED NAZARENES, KNOWING, SHARING

TENDING OUR L.I.N.K.S. GARDEN

1. Planting seeds for Jesus.

2. Tending our gardens all year long.

3. Showering our L.I.N.K.S. with cards and support

4. Nourishing them with our love.

5. Growing friendships and connections with our missionaries.

6. Cultivating support for missions in our churches.

7. Helping our L.I.N.K.S. flourish where God has planted them.

Bring your gardening skills to Convention as we cultivate our love for our missionaries with a special offering. Use your imagination to prepare a way to give your L.I.N.K.S. offering in keeping with a gardening theme.  Ideas may include flowers made from cash, money trees, “seed” packets, etc.  Let your imagination go!

Let’s display a robust L.I.N.K.S. garden at Convention with 100% participation in the special offering for our missionaries.  Remember, new seeds (our new L.I.N.K.S. assignments) will be given at Convention.  Start planting and caring for your new garden NOW!
