We appreciate your faithfulness to your congregations, Michigan District, Olivet Nazarene University, Pensions & Benefits, and to the Church of the Nazarene World Evangelism Fund.

We would like to express our appreciation to all local treasurers for their patience and for the many suggestions we have received as we implement the District Assembly's change in financial accountability. A new updated E.I.F. worksheet is attached to assist you in your efforts to properly account for funds received toward our new income based accounting process.
We have attempted to list many of the special offerings received by a local church toward 10% mission giving. As every church is unique, we all need to recall that all approved 10% giving is deductible from the total income.
All local treasurers will need to keep a running total of W.E.F. giving thoughout the year and verify that 5.5% is sent to Global Ministries by the end of the fiscal year on May 31st. Many churches will be sending additional funds in order to qualify as a 10% church.
A reminder: mortgage payments resulting from previously approved Capital Improvement Projects (C.I.P.) are deductible as C.I.P.s.
Again, we would like to thank everyone for their help and trust that you will feel free to make additional suggestions as the year progresses.
In His service,
James B. Schweigert, District Treasurer
