Leadership Development

In every church, one of the most important responsibilities of the pastor and other church leaders is to empower leaders. None of us have enough skill or ability to lead the church by ourselves. Over the past 4,000 years of salvation history, God has created environments where leaders have learned, "I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me" (Numbers 11:14).

God has always had a plan to solve this problem: "The Lord said to Moses: “Bring me [individuals]...who are known to you as leaders and officials among the people. Have them come to the tent of meeting [in God's presence] that they may stand there with you. I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put it on them. They will share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone" (Numbers 11:16-17). How would you like to begin developing a group of men and women who "share the burden of the people with you so that you will not have to carry it alone?" Welcome to leadership development. On the Michigan District, we are committed to creating an environment where leadership develops. For an example of a local church Leadership Development process, click here.
